Fairytales?....yes I believe

I see a fairytale as ones idea of love, devotion, happiness, commitment, etc.  Part of that is the good, the bad, and the very ugly.

Stories such as Beauty and the Beast, Snow White, etc, shows us that even fairytale characters have had there fair share of heartache, arguments, fights, deaths, etc. Finding love, happy endings never comes easy. Even in alternate universes it takes patience, time, and a lot of work.

It always gets me when people say they don't believe in fairytales. Yet they are quick to decribe what they want in terms of happiness, love, the whole shebang, all down to what 'Prince Charming' should look, smell and sound like. If that's not your fairytale then what is?

If that's how they feel, then not believing in fairytales simply tells me that they don't believe in their own reality. Which at the end of the day is ones idea of what love means to them. So to you cynics I say #wakeup.

I want that Tarzan, Christian Grey type love, the kind that has me seeing doves.

I love the idea of knowing that there is someone out there that God created just for me. When we cross paths is already predetermined. So when a relationship doesn't go as planed, I embrace it as another lesson learned, another experience that will mold me into the woman I need to be. That way when I do meet my Prince Charming I will be ready for whatever adventures we embark on. Who knows maybe I've already meet him, but God hasn't revealed that part of his plan just yet.

Nothing good in life comes easy, that's not to say that you should be in a relationship that is unhealthy. I think Bob Marley said it best: “If she's amazing, she won't be easy. If she's easy, she won't be amazing. If she's worth it, you wont give up. If you give up, you're not worthy. ... Truth is, everybody is going to hurt you; you just gotta find the ones worth suffering for.” I think this works both ways, the Queen protects and fights for her King. He is nothing without her, and she is nothing without him.

Never stop believing in the possibility of love because then that just means you've given up. Don't let someone elses ideas or life events determine your course of happiness. Just because your girl or boy had a bad experience, doesn't make it all that way. #wakeup

Things may not happen how you want them to, but trust and believe that they will happen when they are supposed too.

What relationship?

I'm sitting on the bus heading to Ikea and wondering when did conversation and acknowledgement amongst people become so obsolete?

Everyone, including myself is so wrapped up in what were doing, which mind you is nothing that's pressing! Some are listening to music, reading, etc. Nothing of great importance. Yet, I don't see anyone looking at or even acknowledging the person seated next to them. I've tried a few time to make eye contact with the lady seated next to me, but MY GOSH she's all caught up in 'reading'(she's been fidgeting with the paper, folding and refolding it nonstop) her newspaper.

Looking around, I'm wondering, is it worth it? On a daily basic I observe how people interact at home, work, school, etc. Things have changed. What's diner time? What's family time?

I mean the basic elements of relationships are almost non existent. Kids would rather be on Facebook, Hookt, Instgram, What's app, and Twitter. Doing what? Playing games, posting pictures, and chatting it up with strangers and friends they've probably seen at school rather than have quality family time. Hell I'll take board games and conversation with my fam before all that.

Yes we are technologically advanced but at what cost?

Don't get me wrong I love the simplicity, and excitement that technology brings, but nothing can compare to good old fashion conversation or some quality time! Yes its good for staying in touch with people, but that doesn't mean you can text me or write on my wall instead of picking up the phone to wish me a happy birthday. I've been guilty of this, and have learned the errors of my ways.

I remember when I was growing up in Grenada, no matter who you were, old, young, tourist, local, people always acknowledged each other. Whether on the bus, walking down the street, or just hanging out on the block. What I loved the most was being outside, my family didn't have much, but I was happy just playing outside with my cousins, nothing to it, just out running around. That was then, 10yrs ago b.f(before Facebook). Wonder how much its changed since then...
.
I have an account on most of the social networks sites I've mentioned, a blog and I journal daily. Yet I find the balance, I talk to my family(texting is not conversation) daily. We spend time together just hanging out, being in each others presence.  Don't get me wrong there are times when all you can do is text because its more convenient, i.e on the go all day, and you send a quick text to say hi, etc. But it shouldn't be something we resort to all the time.

Point is don't lose yourself...or your connections with people. Find that medium.

Balance is key!!

Something to think on...

Someone told me this a few months back. 'In Life, you will meet people, some you never think about again. Some, you wonder what happened to them. There the ones you wonder if they ever think about you, and then there are the ones you wish you never had to think about again.' Questions is what do you do when you're faced with such circumstances? Live and let Live? Or...?

Not Lucky but Blessed!

I woke up this #morning and had this great feeling wash over me. I am grateful and thankful for all that was, that is, and that will be. I will take the good with the bad, because that's just the way #LIFE works, things needs to be in balance. Its up to me to maintain that balance when the scales are tipped. Wishing everyone a GREAT day! If your down, take the time to lift someone's spirit up, I guarantee that will leave you feeling a whole lot better.

XOXO
