This summer has given me a lot more chances to explore Ottawa and see exactly what the nations capital has to offer.
I had a list of what I wanted to do, but we all know how that goes, generally only 10% of what is planned gets done within the specified time frame. Nonetheless, I am having fun...
I have been to the Parliment hills, did the tour, visited the cats. Had 12 awesome days of Bluesfest. Been eating like crazy..
I must say that Ottawa is definitely a place with many hidden gems, especially food wise. There are lots of local eateries that are critique worthy.
On Albert St. there is this restaurant called The SconeWitch, a place where you can get a great meal for beaucoup bucks but mucho worth it!! You can have breakfast, brunch, lunch and an earlier pre-diner meal all made with freshly baked scones.
I am talking savory & sweet scones. Everything that you order will have the word scone in it. For Breakfast I like to get the bacon cheese melt, on a cheddar and sometimes feta scone....sooo good, one of the best breakfast that I have had. And to top it of you get a side of fruit and greens to complete this wholesome treat. When it's lunch time I always grab either a MealWitch or a SconeWitch. You can even just grab a regular scone and top it of with some of their homemade jams. They also have various sorts of desserts.
The atmosphere is great, the ice tea is freshly squeezed and the staff is AWESOME!!
What more can you ask for...
Watch me while I enjoy my bacon and cheese melt on a cheddar scone...
One wish I have is that they extend the operating hours, they close at 4:30pm. Maybe not on all the days, but at least on special days!!
XOXOXO
